The Grand Décors
Grand décors bring together many different crafts: from mirror manufacturer to tapestry-maker, from goldsmith to sculptor and from painter to marble specialist, under the leadership of a decorator, an architect, and a demanding, connoisseur client. These projects are captivating, given the fact that all the different skills have to harmoniously complement each other. Grand décors are always a challenge, and they derive from the most fantastic of projects in the tradition of Palozzo Te de Mantoue in the Versailles of Louis XIV.
In our workshop, these projects allow us to employ the most skilful and rarely used techniques in concert, such as “water” gold gilding, for example. This technique is composed of twenty or so operations and very few workshops are equipped for it. Our team has several gilders and one remodeler.
A natural link is created between restoration, restitution and creation.
